CJC-1295 w/DAC (Drug Affinity Complex) is a long-acting analog of growth hormone-releasing hormone (GHRH) that has garnered attention in preclinical studies for its potential to enhance growth hormone (GH) secretion and insulin-like growth factor I (IGF-I) production. In rat models, CJC-1295 w/DAC has demonstrated the ability to increase GH levels and promote anabolic effects, making it a valuable tool for investigating growth-related therapies.
One study evaluated the pharmacokinetics of CJC-1295 w/DAC in rats and found that the peptide remained in circulation beyond 24 hours, indicating a prolonged half-life due to its binding to serum albumin. This extended presence in the bloodstream suggests sustained stimulation of GH release.
Further research involving GHRH knockout mice showed that daily administration of CJC-1295 w/DAC maintained normal body composition and growth. The treatment led to increased total pituitary RNA and GH mRNA, suggesting proliferation of somatotroph cells, which are responsible for GH secretion.
In human studies, a single injection of CJC-1295 w/DAC resulted in increased trough and mean GH secretion with preserved pulsatility. IGF-I levels also rose significantly, highlighting the peptide’s potential to stimulate the GH/IGF-I axis effectively.
These findings underscore the promise of CJC-1295 w/DAC in enhancing GH secretion and promoting anabolic effects. Its prolonged half-life and sustained activity make it a compelling candidate for further research into growth-related therapies and metabolic regulation.
